Gomboc's Mission
Gomboc AI is on a mission to radically change how security and devops teams address cloud security management. We are building a platform to deterministically protect cloud environments by generating immediate fixes for infrastructure as code deployments, rather than just detecting them. Since a vast majority of cloud breaches occur due to misconfigurations, providing code fixes instead of the normal ticket dance between security and engineering findings dramatically closes the time to remediation.

Job Description
In this role, you own the architecture and development for Gomboc data engineering efforts, including:
- building additional ETL pipelines to extend our core datasets
- expanding the ontology that defines our knowledge graph
- applying AI/ML to proprietary infrastructure-as-code datasets
- uncovering insights that will guide product decisions and enhance our deterministic AI remediation engine
- building reporting solutions to clarify business narratives for our customers

Expected Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in applied data engineering and machine learning operations
- Algorithm application and development experience including probabilistic analysis, machine learning, and knowledge graphs.
- Development of MLOps pipelines - architect data pipelines and executing them with tools such as Apache Spark or Databricks
- Analytical mindset and strong communication skills: you can uncover insights from our data and connect them to the relevant narrative
- Experience with BI tools: you are familiar with data visualization and reporting tools and can use these to deliver your analyses and build self-service reporting solutions
- Data Manipulation in Python: you are very comfortable Python code and are familiar with data-oriented libraries (e.g. Pandas)
- Proficient in SQL: you can query and join related datasets, do basic transformations to prepare data for analysis, and perform a variety of aggregation operations
- Experimental design and analysis: you can develop a data-oriented hypothesis, design an approach to test it, analyze the results, and share insights with tools like Jupyter notebooks
Preferred Qualifications
- Security domain expertise - you have measurable impact delivering data solutions for security products and knowledge of security data
- Local to NYC area (or demonstrated ability with hybrid/remote work)
- Early-stage startup experience - demonstrated experience taking initiative to own a problem when no one else told you it was necessary but because you had to
- Familiarity with Databricks
- Experience with semantic knowledge representation and reasoning (KRR) using knowledge graphs and Ontology application
- Infrastructure-as-code and cloud architecture expertise
